MEPs signed up to Politics for People pledge 2014

Over 1300 MEP candidates signed up to our Politics for People pledge, of which 180 were elected, making it one of the most successful 2014 election campaigns. Here is a full list of signatories listed by country, party and political group.

Review of revolving door rules in the Staff Regulations

The provisions on conflicts of interest, including from post-employment activities (Art. 11, 12 and 16) in the European Commission's Staff Regulations do not go far enough in preventing the risk of actual or apparent conflicts of interest that arise through the revolving door – when public officials leave office and go to work in private sector lobby jobs.

Big corporation are doing everything in their power to water down the EU's new regulation on data privacy as it threatens their commercial interests. On 19th June the European Parliament will decide how strong the regulation will be. Citizens will be key in pushing MEPs to vote in public interest.

Briefing on the Code of Conduct for Lobbyists

The Code of Conduct (CoC) for lobbyists, which registrants of the Joint Transparency Register (TR) sign up to, in its current form, is weak and vaguely worded. It also needs to be revised in light of the new CoC for MEPs, which was introduced on January 1st 2012 (the MEP CoC was introduced after the TR came into being (June 2011)).
