The European parliament's constitutional affairs committee has approved plans for a parliament-commission joint register for lobbyists.

[Erik Wesselius, a] spokesman for the alliance for lobbying transparency and ethics regulation (Alter-EU) said that the amendments adopted that call for the parliament and commission to take the "necessary steps" for mandatory registration within two years were "very positive".
