Paul de Clerck of Alter EU, a group dedicated to improving lobbying transparency in Brussels, said the measures lacked bite. "We hear a lot of strong words," he said. "But when it comes to specific measures, they are weak. "It's not sufficient if they (members of parliament) report whether they have a conflict of interest. The rules should not allow a conflict of interest or second jobs which present such a conflict."
