[ALTER-EU has] voiced fresh concern about a new code of conduct for former EU commissioners.

The code, recently adopted by the commission, is designed to improve transparency amid concerns that some ex-commissioners were moving straight into top consultancy posts after leaving the executive.

Voor de crisis van 2007 werd er in Brussel rustig onderhandeld tussen bureaucraten en financieel lobbyisten. Daarna werd alles politiek en begon het Grote Reguleren. Wie invloed wil, moet er op tijd bij zijn. Transparantie is ver te zoeken. „Iedereen lobbiet voor zichzelf. Het is een jungle.” Soms met desastreuze resultaten.

Until now the, two institutions had separate listings of the lobbyists who approach deputies and officials attempting to bend legislation, registries which have suffered from widespread criticism from democracy campaigners for the questionable accuracy [...] and for the voluntary nature of the disclosure process.
